Greenwich Public School offer the opportunity for children to take part in the Commonwealth Bank School Banking program. It's a great way to give your child a financial head start by helping them to learn about money management and the importance of saving.
What's involved
In order to participate in the School Banking program your child will need a Commonwealth Youth Saver account which you will be able to open at any Commonwealth Bank Branch - just remember to take your ID and your child' Birth Certificate. Alternatively, if you are an existing Commonwealth Bank Customer the most convenient way to apply for a Youth Saver accoun tis online. Simply log on to Netbank, click 'Offer's and 'Apply' teb, then select 'Accounts' and 'Youthsaver'. Select your child's school and ensure you have their birth certificate on hand for identification. Your child will receive a deposit book and wallet to bring weekly deposits to school. The amount doesn't matter - it's all about learning the habit of saving.
Banking Day
At Greenwich is Thursday mornings at each site from 8.50am-9.15am. Your child simply brings to school their completed deposit slip and their depost amount and the Banking Coordinator will enter all of the deposits into the individual student's accounts. The amount will immediately appear in your child's account. Note: The school does not have the access to any other personal or financial information.
