Greenwich Public School P&C
Greenwich Public School Parents and Community Association (GPS P&C) are a group of community minded teachers, parents, carers, and community members, who aim to assist the school in providing:
- Additional resources to be used to enhance student learning
- Feedback on school policies and activities
- Parents with opportunities to be involved in their children’s education
Key focus of our P&C
- Foster community interest in educational matters
- Encourage closer co-operation between the parents of students attending the school, other members of the community, teachers and students at the school
- Provide advice and recommendations to the principal of the school on issues and concerns in respect of students and the general operation and management of the school
- Provide or assist in the provision of financial or other resources or services for the benefit of students at the school
Joining the P&C
The P&C is open to all members of the school community, including any parent or carer of a GPS student and all school staff. Joining the P&C as a member is a great way to keep informed, to contribute to the quality education of your children and to make new friends. Your contribution can be as large or small as you can manage, but your ongoing support is invaluable.
Not only will you be supporting the school community, but you will be supported by the school community and gain a clear understanding of how the school operates. This is a great opportunity to share in the school’s decision-making process and shape the future.
P&C Meetings can be attended by any interested member of the school community, irrespective of their membership status. By becoming a member, you will gain the ability to comment on matters raised during meetings, vote on any motions raised and in elections, be elected as an officer and join sub-committees. You will also have access to the agenda and minutes of each meeting held, whether you are able to attend or not.

GPS Committee
The GPS P&C is made up of an Executive Team, sub-committees and general members. All positions are held by members within the school community. The Executive Team is voted in for a one year period, which starts and concludes with our AGM in May each year. Any member of the P&C may apply for and be elected into the Executive Team at the AGM, as roles do not carry on automatically from year to year.
There are also a number of Officer Roles - members who lead sub-committees or carry out a particular role within the P&C. Vacancies will be listed here, as they arise.
