Learning Support Team

We monitor each student's progress and provide additional learning support if this is required. Our school uses learning programs and specialised staff where needed and we work in partnership with parents and carers to assist students who have special learning needs.

Our school is committed to working with Aboriginal parents and community members in developing personalised plans for our Aboriginal students.

The Learning Support Team comprised of the Principal, Support Teacher for Learning Assistance (STLA), teaching staff and the School Counsellor meets fortnightly to monitor the needs of students requiring learning assistance and extension.  We are fortunate to have specialist teachers in this area fully funded by the P&C. The STLA teachers work closely with class teachers to develop programs to assist students with extra learning needs in literacy and numeracy.

Since 2012, through the DEC 'Every Student, Every School' program Greenwich Public School has been allocated two and a half days per week of a 'Learning and Support Teacher'.  The role of this teacher is to support students with identified learning needs.
